"The Bubblebees Spoil the Lollytree Chomper's Surprise Visit"
FOR SALE
Mixed media on wood.
The lollytrees sway happily in the lemony winds. They can grow tall, juicy and sweet, thanks to the vigilance of the ever protective bubblebees. This hungry, startled chomper is going to have to be a lot sneakier if he wants to partake of the plump sweets found in the very desirable country of Hills-so-pink. Another piece for the Small Works show at Fusion Gallery in south Jersey. The opening reception is Aug. 9th, 6:00-10:00 pm. If you are in the area, it would be fun to meet some of you guys.

Jim, this is great, love the colors and humour. Quite a poetic landscape!
Hey Isabelle - thanks for your kind words.
Wow, yes, the colors in this one are awesome. And the way you've utilized the circular frame, brilliant. I thought of you a couple days ago, we were on a beach in Rhode Island that had a lot of horseshoe crab shells (they're huge), and I thought, man, Jim what a great canvas for Jim to paint on.
Hey Brian thanks for your comments. Yeah, the horseshoe crabs would fit in nice with the aquatic themes I've been messing with lately. That reminds me that when I was first married we lived a block from the bay in Keyport. One night my wife an me walked down and there were hundreds of horseshoe crabs on the shore and in the water mating. Still one of the most bizarre sights I ever beheld. It was a magical thing to happen upon. I totally dig aquatic life.
Bubblebees! ha! This is really a great looking piece.
Thanks for your comment Kim. I'm glad you liked it.
Jim, this is beautiful, candytastic colours my man! Let me know the next time you're doing a group show, I'd love to be on board (in fact I could do with picking your brains about US galleries anyway, full stop!!)

Hey Sung. Thanks for your words. Yes, you can link to me anytime. It was cool to meet you too. All the best in your fine art endeavors.
Good to see your site again Jimmy!! Sorry it's been so long since I got on here. I've been consumed with a workload that has left me a worn out husk of a human being. It's great to see all your work again and that you are doing great up there. I was in NY in July for the ICON and hope to get back thataway soon.
Hey Joe. I thought you dropped off into the Pacific. Sounds like you are under a weight of labor my friend. Thanks for your comments. How did your sideshow turn out for you?
Sideshow went really well. I sold some paintin's too. That's always a great thing. I've just been stuck working as a half art director/half art slave for this entertainment company in North Hollywood. The projects are really dull, but I get to still juggle a few freelance illustration assignments each week in the mornings before I head in. I should be grateful, but the pay isn't really all that good and the projects are like watching digital paint dry. I think I was worried about the sinking economy and the fact that I wanted to pay off debts once and for all. The bosses were in Boise, ID for a few days and I got that time off. It was fantastic to get caught up on stuff and write to people I never have time to write to. I hope to visit your blog more often though. I may be leaving that AD job by tax season of next year to go back to my freelance full-time. I miss just being in my studio and doing the projects that are so much cooler than all this corporate crap. Sheesh, I'm winded now.
Joey's back! ha-cha-cha-cha-cha!
