Scribble Train Car

There is a zine collab going on called The Big Team Scribble. Every artist is given a train car to doodle on and it should end up being 100 cars long. OPPY is heading up the project and you can see her awesome scribbles here.

the HORROR of the Blank!

I was recently contacted by The Art Bureau to do 10 pages in a zine/book featuring 10 other artists and myself. I excitedly accepted only to seize up in the idea stage for 3 straight weekends as life got in the way and the evil deadline came hurling toward me. Since I work full-time, those 3 weekends were much needed for my mental stability. This moment of insanity became the premise of my submission. Below are some teaser shots of the work which goes to press on March 7 and lands in my hands at a time to be decided by fate. I will announce it's arrival here and couple other places when the time comes.

More Moleskine Doodles

I went through my moleskine and picked out some random pages to post. I have been collaging lately and like getting all messy with cutting and glue.

Folk Fish

I like folk art. There is an earthy looseness to it that appeals to me. I have been carving these fish out of wood and will post them when finished.

I like the moon.

I ended the year doing a lot of tighter vector things and now am starting the year off all loosey goosey. I like to doodle a lot.

Too Much Static

Doodling and collage. They feel so right together. This was a moleskine and music kind of day. And that was just fine.

Mushroom Bot

This challenge was fun. It gave me a chance to experiment more than usual. I hope it doesnt' look too far from my style because I would like to build more of these little bots.

Robot Ideas

Ironically, this illustration was created from start to finish on the computer. Even the sketch work was done in Painter. But let's never forget that the computer is merely a tool and our minds must stay active in the creative process from start to finish. I don't think humans are in danger of being replaced anywhere in the near future.

This is based on an illustration I did about a little dead juggling skull guy who is so nervous performing at his first day of the dead gig that he misplaces one of his juggling skulls and has to sub in an orange. Thus the title of the illustration, "An Orange is Always Good in a Pinch".

I am messing around a lot with vectors lately. I also want to do more people so I can develop the illustration side of me. I will never get tired of doing creatures and animals though.
