After doing the cat background on the Trouble illustration, I wanted to revisit the idea of using my flat illustrator art with texture. I also wanted to go with a bright pastel color palette rather than my darker gritty color look. It's fun to change things up and experiment because it takes you down a slightly different road and the adventure and surprise ending are worth it.

  7. Very nice take on the topic. I really like your texture experiment and the colors you used. I need to experiment with illustrator--I've been trying to learn painter but I think I really like the clean lines you get with illustrator and didn't realize you could do textures and painterly effects in it too.
